NATIONAL CONTACT POINT PARTICIPATES IN DECENTRALIZED IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL PLAN ON BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN CUSCO

Cusco, September 01 and 02, 2022.- Continuing with the process of decentralized implementation of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (PNA), the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH) held various training and coordination meetings with unions trade unions, civil society and companies in Cusco, in order to strengthen the decentralization process of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (PNA) 2021 – 2025.

The National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct participated on September 1st and 2nd. On September 1st, a presentation was made by Lisbeth Loja, on «Responsible Business Conduct and Due Diligence in Human Right: international framework and the NAP 2021-2025» in the Cusco Chamber of Commerce. The following day, the representative of the National Contact Point participated in the Multi-stakeholder Table, presenting during the session: Business and Human Rights: international framework and work of the United Nations, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Ombudsman’s Office.

The PNA, approved by Supreme Decree 009-2021-JUS, seeks to guarantee the protection and respect for human rights in all business activities in the country, as well as remediation mechanisms in cases of violations, incorporating international standards on this matter, particularly the United Nations Guiding Principles and responsible business conduct.
